Tehran (The Times Groupe)- Argentine authorities has seized a Boeing 747 owned by Iran’s Mahan Air and leased to Venezuela’s state-owned airline at Buenos Aires airport, Iranian state-controlled media reported on Sunday.
There was no official confirmation of the reports, which were published by state television and the semi-official ISNA news agency.
Venezuela and Iran have close ties. According to Iranian state television, the two countries signed a 20-year cooperation plan on Saturday.
Mahan Air was sanctioned by the US Treasury Department in the spring of 2008 for links to the IRGC’s Quds Force and for carrying weapons to Syria and Lebanon.
