Tehran (Times Of Ocean)- The Iran’s government announced on Wednesday it will waive visa fees for spectators of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, hoping to attract some of the football fans flocking to neighboring Qatar. Kish

Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi in a Twitter message stated “President Ebrahim Raisi’s cabinet has agreed to grant World Cup 2022 spectators who wish to visit Iran a visa free of charge.”

It could encourage tourists who travel to Qatar to watch World Cup games to visit Iran and help boost Iran’s tourism industry.

The decision comes after Qatari Transport Minister Jassim bin Saif al Sulaiti this week visited Iran’s Kish Island and signed six cooperation agreements, Iran state-run IRNA news agency reported.
